August is National Immunization Awareness Month!
Flu season is just around the corner, and because of the nature of COVID-19, it is more important than ever to get your flu vaccine this fall. The flu vaccine doesn’t prevent you from contracting COVID-19, and the COVID-19 vaccine doesn’t prevent you from contracting the flu—so, both vaccines are recommended.
Although the two vaccines are separate, it is possible to catch both illnesses at the same time. Influenza and Coronavirus have very similar symptoms which include:
- Fever
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Tiredness
- Sore throat
- Runny or stuffy nose
- Muscle aches
- Headache
- Nausea or vomiting, but this is more common in children than in adults
